For the first time in the Club’s history, Bromley Fury is entering three teams in the prestigious Junior National Basketball League (NBL) and an U12 squad into the Central Venue League (CVL) next season.
Following on from the success of last season’s U16 and U18 squads the club is now building an U14 squad to compete competitively in this highest level of English club basketball, alongside fielding a Fury U12 squad in the CVL for the first time.
Numbers for the junior section of the club are at an all-time high, with long waiting lists for the extremely popular all-ability training and development sessions running throughout the year.
By expanding the junior competitive teams representing Fury, the pathway for aspiring and talented players through the club will be clearer, as well as the players gaining valuable experience and skills playing at a regional and national level.
Head Coach, Steve Rich, said of the rapid growth of the junior teams: “We have experienced a massive increase in the popularity of basketball at the club and the talent we have seen coming through in the past few years has been phenomenal.”
“The expansion of the competitive teams is driven by the club’s ethos to foster and develop this exceptional talent and build on the success of the past couple of years. I’m looking forward to what next season will bring.”
